Jakarta, — The International Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Group (IPMG), representing over 27 leading research-based pharmaceutical companies committed to advancing healthcare in Indonesia, announces that IPMG Chairman Dr. Ait-Allah Mejri will retire at the end of March this year. Dr. Mejri—a former public health physician and long-serving President Director of PT Roche Indonesia—has held the position of Chairman since February 2019. Under his leadership, IPMG has driven continuous innovation and fostered collaborations to improve healthcare outcomes across Indonesia.
Evie Yulin, President Director of PT Merck Tbk and current Vice Chair of IPMG, will succeed Dr. Mejri as Chairman starting in April 2025. The IPMG Board of Directors has unanimously supported this appointment.
Evie Yulin, a pharmacist and graduate of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), brings over 25 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry. In 2010, she made history as the first woman to serve as General Manager of Merck Healthcare Asia Pacific and has since served as President Director of PT Merck Tbk.
Since 2019, Evie has played a pivotal role as Chair of the IPMG Market Access Task Force while also serving as IPMG Vice Chair. In her capacity at IPMG, she has collaborated with government institutions, international organizations, non-governmental organizations, and patient advocacy groups to enhance access to innovative medicines. Her leadership and expertise make her the ideal person to lead IPMG into its next chapter. George Stylianou, IPMG Board Member, Chair of the Communications Task Force, and President Director of PT Merck Sharp and Dohme Indonesia, stated, “It has been a great honor to work alongside Dr. Ait-Allah Mejri, whose strong leadership has significantly advanced IPMG’s mission. Under his leadership, IPMG has strengthened its capacity and made great strides in patient advocacy and access to innovation in Indonesia. I am also delighted to welcome Evie Yulin as Dr. Mejri’s successor. Her extensive experience and commitment to improving access to medicines make her the ideal candidate to lead IPMG into the future.”
Evie Yulin expressed her enthusiasm for her new role, saying,
